Simplistic, soothing music.

Power Paandi is a lilting tribute to Ilaiyaraaja's melodies of the yesteryears. Sean Roldan doesn't complicate the scene at all, and churns out a minimalistic album which has its surprises at the right places. It may not immediately cling onto you, but will show its promise with time.

Vaanam: Singers – Ananthu and Chorus

Very soothing song to start off. Ananthu’s careful rendition is a win, with the alternating tune working well too. Despite the chorus not syncing together, this is our PICK.

Soorakaathu: Singer – Dhanush

Pedestrian light kuthu. Dhanush’s vocals drag down the excitement, and the tune doesn’t have much energy either.

Paarthen: Singer – Sean Roldan, Shweta Mohan

Melodious little composition from Sean Roldan, with a clear 80’s touch. The vocals just play along with the simple beat, and end up on the good side. Our PICK.

Veesum Kaathodadhaan: Singers – Sean Roldan, Anthonydasan

The most powerful one among all the tracks in the album, and it still doesn’t go high on the volume. Take my word, this will be a good watch with the visuals. Pep song.

Venpani Malare: Singers – Sean Roldan/Shweta Mohan

Flutes, percussions and some taps make up this beautiful melody handled with maturity by the composer. Shweta Mohan’s version with the male background humming makes for a better listen, this will go on to become a crowd favorite. Our final PICK.
