Mundane!

After a decent album with Thirudan Police which showed promise, Yuvan delivers a pedestrian, spineless OST in Poojai with mundane tunes!

Cast: Vishal, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Andrea (Special Appearance)

Direction: Hari

Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Lyrics: Na Muthukumar

Label: V Music

  • Soda Bottle – A template folk number with earthy lyrics and a done to death tune. Even Anthony Dasan’s vocals sound unexciting. Certainly not an ideal start to the album!
  • Devathai – Lovely vocals of Nivas blends well with Yuvan’s largely okayish tune. Our PICK of the album!
  • Uyire – A quintessential, must-have ditty in Yuvan’s vocals; The lyrics are so relatable to ‘N’ number of Yuvan songs in the past. Passable track, though!
  • Odi Odi – It is the kind of song similar to Dhrogam in Hari’s Aaru. Motivational lyrics, a cheering tune and revengeful, hero-glorifying vocals – A procedural redemption number
  • Ippadiye – A blandly unspiring duet with the silver lining being the information-age lyrics, the latest fad in Tamil cinema
  • Verarum – This one looks straight out of SA Rajkumar’s repertoire with the only saving grace being Karthik and Pooja’s vocals. Yet another stale number in an album which is already stumbling!
