“Naragasooran is not a horror flick,” says D 16 director Karthick Naren
As the horror genre is beaten to pulp in K’town, looks like director Karthick Naren who made heads turn with his debut feature Dhuruvangal 16 is apprehensive whether audiences will accept one more horror film, which he wishes to make.
“As a film buff my favourite genre is ‘Horror’. Always wanted & I still wish to make an unadulterated & unforgiving horror film without any gimmicks. Sadly the genre has been overused in Tamil. Will the audience accept one more film?,” asked Karthick Naren on his Facebook page.
He also clarified that his upcoming project Naragasooran, which features Arvind Swami and Naga Chaitanya in important roles, is not a horror film. Karthick Naren is currently in the process of finalizing a third lead for Naragasooran from the Malayalam film industry.
