Engaging!
An interesting concoction of tunes and a balanced mix of songs make this one an engaging album from Vijay Antony!
Cast: Srikanth, Sunaina, Santhanam
Direction: Ganeshaa
Music: Vijay Antony
Label: Saregama South
- Kaima Kaisa – An interesting concoction of western and kuthu from Vijay Antony. Naresh Iyer’s pitch-perfect vocals are fantastic and it’s good to see the singer in action after a long time
- Idhuvarai Yaarum – Barring the anomalous rap between the two charanams, this track works reasonably well. Quirky lyrics by Madhan Karky and a wonderful rendition by Chinmayi and Rahul
- Thoongum Pennae – This is the kind of track Vijay Antony used to compose in his prime. Just when you start to admire the song, a chorus interlude reminds you bizarrely of a popular old song. Nevertheless, an engaging track
- Aara Amara – Sung by Santhanam (in drunk), this one has a funky tune and zany lyrics. Santhanam’s mundane rendition works in the song’s favor
- Saroja Devi Ennai – It’s always a delight to listen to Aalaap Raju irrespective of how convincing the tune is. Probably, the least engaging track in the album but thanks to Aalaap’s candid singing, it does not make you frown
