When it comes to entertaining people, cinema plays a major role to satiate the thirst of fans and the common people. Today’s outing is running in full houses and in makers perception, it’s great to see family and youngsters flocking together in theaters creating a tough fight for piracy. Festival weekend now officially begins with Naan Sigappu Manithan taking all the credits with refreshing performances from the cast and the crew.
Opening up on the film, The movie deals with narcolepsy, a neurological sleep disorder with fear, romance, betrayal, friendship and the de-facto emotions. The first half is Vishal’s quiet and matured show, the actor has put it in the right way carrying his character with skillful performance. Vishal plays Indhiran, a Narcolepsy victim taken care by his mother Saranya and his friends Jagan & Sunder Ramu. It is all happy moments for them and the National award winner Saranya along with Jegan manages to bring the roof down with giggles time to time with her sensible dialogues. She also carries perfect emotions leaving the audience to identify her in two different shades.
Vishal has some wishes in his bucket list to fulfill, though they look generic and simple, it takes a big challenge for the hero to accomplish being a victim of narcolepsy. Vishal rather being a brilliant student in academics is unable to shape up his career due to his disorder. Meanwhile a medical college calls him for an observation in a seminar and Vishal instantly asks for money to showcase his disorder for people to understand which leaves Saranya worried but Vishal takes it the sportive manner and expresses it with sharply delivered dialogues. The hero’s wishes turn reality with the money he earned and he starts his career as a freelancer. Jagan and Sunder Ramu aid Vishal in all his activities and they have done quite well.
Lakshmi Menon enters the frame and gets introduced to Vishal through a prank and her sympathy leaves a big impact on him. Lakshmi Menon looks ravishingly fresh with her modern looks and certainly has delivered a brilliant performance. The Pandiyanaadu effect has certainly worked for the pair and all the songs, scenes and romance portions are refreshing and dignified and will not upset the family audience as well. Lakshmi Menon, daughter of a rich business man Jaya Prakash had to face all the challenges in winning her love and Vishal stays stoic to humiliations from Jaya Prakash to achieve their love. Jaya Prakash yet again comes in with a tidy performance and what a supporting actor he has turning out to be for the Tamil industry. Good sign indeed!
First half ends with a big twist and emotions that will arouse eagerness for the audience and sets up the ideal stage for the second half. With a shocker and a pre-interval twist, a perfect cause for revenge is constructed.
The second half is based on revenge and an unexpected twist detailed through a flashback. Why,What and Who are the three Q’s that Vishal is in search for and whether he would succeed in retaliating is what the second half is all about. A melange of suspense, action, thriller and commercial elements intertwined together and calls for a perfect festival treat and makes it worth watching on screen. The movie has a tight narration not leaving the reviews to ice-break the plot summary. BGM & dialogues need a special mention, the dialogues have are crisp & clear with sharply delivered performances. This movie would definitely be Vishal’s best considering all his performances till date and certainly for Vishal – Thiru combo as well. Richard’s cinematography and Ruben’s editing have supported equally for a good showtime. GV’s songs are pretty good and the visuals look refreshing and eye-candy.
