Cinema is changing! And as an audience we have witnessed the change, but the inner truth is that cinema is always the same it is only the technology that gives the feel for the change. When you go back in the history of film making, you may come witness a common plot. A hero who fights for his love against the villain is the most common and we call it a cliché now but still our filmmakers keep trying something new out of the same idea.

Are we really looking for the change or are the makers enforcing us to stick on to their thoughts is what Masala Padam all about. It is also laced with some interesting facts. The runtime is completely stressing the critics to understand the pain of producers and the directors in making a complete cinema for the common audience.

A discussion on the success of the movie is still and will be always be with the audience which none can fight over, but when you consider yourself a critic you are certainly dealing with emotions that needs a social responsibility. Masala Padam is a detail for the critics of the new generation and it accepts your comments but has a convincing explanation as well which can be acceptable with no ignorance. The cast and crew have given solid support to the script, Bobby Simhaa has done his usual and Shiva breaks the moment with emotional takes as well.

An open challenge from a producer to the film critic of this generation to come out with a story with commercial elements and no cliché is the plot of Masala Padam. The critics on a new journey come across three characters Bobby Simhaa as a local thug, Shiva, a middle class common man and Gaurav, a rich spoilt kid. They follow these three with the help of Lakshmy Devy who comes as a photo journalist and she goes on to travel with these three to understand them emotionally. She succeeds and collects informations for the script but when she realizes in-depth about the three, she decides to walk out. What happens then leads to the climax which preaches the past, present and the future of cinema. A special mention for music by Karthik Aacharya and the razorsharp dialogues penned by the writer. Venkat Subha, who comes as a producer in the film and dons the hat of a film critic in real life, has done a fabulous job with some good-timed dialogues and hitches the film critics in the social mediums to justify for their acts.

Masala Padam is for the critics and justifies that the success of the movie lies on the hands of the critics alone but there is common population who seek only entertainment. Cinema is art form for sure but it is considered an entertainment for a huge crowd and a filmmaker cannot always ensure that all his social messages have reached the common man but can believe that his film certainly entertains them.
