Maruthu Songs Review

Review Overview

Sooravalida
Othasadai Rosa
Akka Petha Jakkavandi
Karuvakaatu Karuvaaya
Marudhu Theme

Middling melange of rural tunes.

Marudhu is a tepid soundtrack from Imman, blowing hot and cold. Though the songs are largely familiar, they will strike a chord with the masses for sure, and help the film on its way. Imman is keeping it simple for his music these days, and that just might be a good thing.

Cast: Vishal, Sri Divya

Music: D.Imman

Lyrics: Yuga Bharathi, Vairamuthu

Director: Muthaiah

Producer: Anbu Cheziyan

Label: Sony Music India

Sooravalida: Singer – Jinesh Prabhu

Typecast Imman kuthu which begins with an instrumental and then goes into local mode with its lyrics. It has just enough in it to keep the front benchers excited.

Othasadai Rosa: Singers – Sai Saran, AV Pooja

The two super singers unite for this simple love track which neither offers something special, nor pains your eardrums. Passable is the word.

Akka Petha Jakkavandi: Singers – Anirudh Ravichander, Niranjana Ramanan

If Fy Fy Fy was one of those annoying but still heavily addictive songs from Imman, Akka Petha Jakkavandi joins the club with its fun turnarounds headed by Anirudh and Niranjana Ramanan, who do an awesome job on the mic. This one has the capability to climb the charts quickly, thereby becoming our PICK.

Karuvakaatu Karuvaaya: Singers – Vandana Srinivasan, Jithin Jeyamurthi

Vandana Srinivasan comes forward for another lilting rendition, taking the song much higher than it actually is. Her unique vocals add a new flavour here, making this our second PICK!

Marudhu Theme:

Composed keeping the mood of the film in mind, the Marudhu theme binds up various instrumentations together for a satisfactory result.
