Manithan is a pleasing OST from Santosh Narayanan, who nicely adapts himself into the mainstream housing. This may well be far than what you expect in line with his standards, mainly due to the lack of excitement, but that doesn't help write off the composer. Just about good.

Cast: Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hansika

Music: Santhosh Narayanan

Lyrics: Madhan Karky, Vivek

Direction: Ahmed

Label: Sony Music

Aval: Singers – Pradeep, Priya Hemesh

Santosh Narayanan starts proceedings on a high with this flawless track, backed by Pradeep’s vocals. The free-flowing nature of the song is its USP, making it our PICK.

Mun Selladaa: Singers – Anirudh, ADK

Despite Anirudh’s voice being swept under the carpet, Mun Selladaa clicks due to its fantastic arrangements and sound setup. ADK gets the best lines here, and does his job neatly. Another PICK!

Poi Vaazhvaa: Singers – Vijay Narain, Santosh Narayanan

Quite a disappointing medley, in comparison to the lovely bits that Santosh scores in these situations. The hook is good, nothing else is.

Kondaatam: Singers – Radar with a K, Divya Ramani

Kondaatam brims with the Santosh Narayanan flavour all through, especially in its interludes. A likable track with shades of brilliance occasionally spotted.

Adho – Manithan Theme: Singer – Kalpana Raghavendar

A decent theme to end the soundtrack, packed with some nice hymns and sounds.

Summary: Manithan is a pleasing OST from Santosh Narayanan, who nicely adapts himself into the mainstream housing. This may well be far than what you expect in line with his standards, mainly due to the lack of excitement, but that doesn’t help write off the composer. Just about good.
