Lakshmi Menon joins Vishal – Suseenthiran’s next; replaces Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan, who was earlier supposed to play the lead role in Suseenthiran’s next under Vishal’s homebanner Vishal Film Factory, has been replaced by Lakhsmi Menon whose last film Pandinaadu with the duo is a superhit. Though Vishal and Shruti Haasan are currently acting together in Hari’s Poojai, Vishal justifies this replacement. “In Susee’s new movie, the heroine has a limited screen space. Though Shruti was initially considered, having acted together in a commercial movie like Poojai, I felt it wouldn’t do justice to her scope of acting,” says Vishal to a daily.

The film is set in a Madurai backdrop and Suseenthiran feels that Lakshmi Menon, after the success of Jigarthanda where she played a Madurai girl, would be apt for the film’s story. More details about the project will be made official soon. Lakshmi Menon is currently acting in Karthi’s Komban directed by Muthaiah and is awaiting the release of Sippai where she is co-starred with Gautham Karthik.
