Kadamban Songs Review

Review Overview

Otha Parvaiyil
Aagatha Kaalam
Ilaratham Soodera
Saama Kodangi
Uchimalai Azhagu

Passable jungle beats

Kadamban is a decent soundtrack from Yuvan, who concocts a very simple set of tunes to match the genre. There was lot more expected from the composer, and with the result of the album it looks like we would have to hold on until the film arrives to content ourselves with the BGM.

Cast: Arya, Catherine Tresa

Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Lyrics: YugaBharathi

Direction: Ragava

Label: Trend Music

Otha Parvaiyil: Singers – Yuvan, Srimathumitha

Yuvan’s mesmerising tune gets into form only after a few listens, with the vocal control and the noise-free instrumentations making it such a lovely listen. This is easily our PICK.

Aagatha Kaalam: Singer – Ananthu

Nice to see Yuvan making Ananthu what he does best, but this is just a normal song which is made with respect to the movie. So let’s not call it yet.

Ilaratham Soodera: Singers – MLR Karthikeyan, Senthil Dass, Sam Harish

A pep song, on the lines of the composer’s Nimirnthu Nil. There’s not much to say about the music even, this is routine stuff.

Saama Kodangi: Singers – Velmurugan, Anitha, Jayamoorthy

A borderline passable celebration number. Velmurugan is the one who stands out with his rendition here.

Uchimalai Azhagu: Singer – Mukesh

Just when you think that the song is going on usual grounds, Yuvan makes use of catchy pipe sounds at the right places, making this sound special. Mukesh too, does a great job on the mic to bring in the rural feels. Our PICK.
