Thumbs UP! Imman is back.

Imman seems perfectly poised to get back to his tremendous form after a series of middling albums. With a lot of variety in tunes, he delivers an album pertinent to the film's youthful theme.

Cast: Vishnu Vishal, Sri Divya, Soori

Direction: Suseenthiran

Music: D. Imman

Lyrics: Vairamuthu, Madhan Karky, Kabilan Vairamuthu

Label: Sony Music India

  • Ovvundraai Thirudugiraai; Singers: D. Imman, Karthik, Bhavya Pandit, Lyrics: Vairamuthu – Starts off with a short lyrical note and Imman bolsters it with fantastic concoction of sounds through and through. Imman’s arrangement is phenomenal here, especially the violin-backed interlude from 2.46 to 3.10 is absolutely captivating. Bhavya Pandit’s pleasant voice seems perfect for the song with nifty touches from Karthik and Imman. Our PICK!
  • Oru Rosa; Singers: D. Imman, Anthony Dasasn, A.V. Pooja, Lyrics: Madhan Karky – If you are so excited looking at the combination of singers here, you’ll end up disappointed like me for Pooja is only used for humming here and there. And, Anthony Dasan looks poised to become a regular in Imman albums with Oru Rosa. Quite similiar to his previous track Takku Takku from Sigaram Thodu, this one is a passable number with Madhan Karky’s witty lyrics
  • Oruthi Maelae; Singers: D. Imman, Abhay Jodhpurkar, El Fe Choir, Lyrics: Madhan Karky – Abhay makes a comeback after his fantastic Adiyae Enna Raagam and he has nailed it here. A simplistic, catchy tune with El Fe Choir’s lovely chorus portions!
  • Sangimangi; Singers: D. Imman, Nivas, Malavika, The Mystri, Lyrics: Kabilan Vairamuthu – A quirky tune with Imman’s superb tapestry of sounds. Nivas outperforms everyone else with his zany rendition!
  • Engae Ponaai; Singers: D. Imman, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Lyrics: Madhan Karky – With its mind-blowing overture, SPB’s soulful rendition, Madhan Karky’s absorbing lyrics and Imman’s lilting tune, Engae Ponaai is a moving pathos and the kind of song that lingers even after you finish listening. Our PICK!
  • Naetru Naan; Singers: D. Imman, Sathya Prakash, Lyrics: Madhan Karky – Imman’s domineering guitar sounds are extremely delightful and Sathya Prakash vocals add amazing value to this short but pleasing melody!
