“Goundamani sir will be an eternally-trending star,” says Sivakarthikeyan
Speaking at the audio launch of 49 O, which marks the comeback of Goundamani in the lead hero, Sivakarthikeyan expressed his desire to share screen space with Goundamani and Sathyaraj together in a film. “They called me a trending star. But as far as Tamil cinema is concerned, the only trending star is Goundamani sir. Even after fifty or sixty years down the line, he will be a trending star. There is not even a single person on stage he has missed passing wisecracks at during their respective speeches. I just couldn’t control my laughter sitting next to him. My life’s most difficult time was the last half an hour sitting alongside him,” said Sivakarthikeyan.
“My humble request is Sathyaraj sir and Goundamani sir should act together in a film soon. If possible, please rope me in too. We have enjoyed the antics of Goundamani sir unconsciously in all our minds. The fact that ‘Gounder is back’ is one of the most exciting moments in Tamil screen. I have heard from the makers that Goundamani sir has never attended any audio launch of his films in the past three decades,” added Sivakarthikeyan who wished the entire team of 49 O a great success on the film.
