Chennai 2 Singapore is complete package of comedy, romance and emotions. Director Abbas Akbar intends to present the film freshly and entertainingly, and he succeeds in it.
Cinema is filled with fantasy and dreams where every individual strives to dwell in, but the fear keeps certain people away and some to fight back overcoming a lot of barriers to emerge as a lucky person. Chennai 2 Singapore also deals a similar issue but it’s backed up by a well written and executed comedy pattern that looks new.
Any movie will entertain when as an audience they laugh out loud for the comedy and invest for emotions genuinely. Director Abbas Akbar should be on cloud nine for achieving both in the film with an earnest attempt.
Debutant Gokul Anand playing the lead has done what the director has wanted by putting up a good show where he exhibits his talent in comedy, romance and emotions.
Various situations in the film are nicely fused with comedy, romance and emotions. The movie really did well in all the formats to make it a complete one and music Director Ghibran who has also turned as a producer for Chennai 2 Singapore has taken a bold decision and handled both the platforms really well.
In terms of production values, the movie is sound in all the technical aspects, especially cinematography. Music and location is quiet and genuinely packed. Rajesh as Vanampadi and Shiv Keshav as Michael have plenty of space and did the comedy in the right spirit and have given the audience to laugh their lungs out. Despite a few logical misses,
the intentions are to make the audience only laugh and enjoy those logic’s gently.
Overall Chennai 2 Singapore is pure comical travel drama with some unexpected emotions and a decent romance track. The movie surprisingly surpasses all the storytelling barriers to put up a good show. If you intend only to laugh, then your travel to Chennai 2 Singapore in theaters will be undoubtedly enjoyable.
