Baahubali selected for BRICS Film Festival
SS Rajamouli’s epic Baahubali has been selected to be screened at the five-day BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) Film Festival which will be held in New Delhi’s Siri Fort Auditorium complex from September 2 to 6.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed this initiative of conducting a film festival to understand the culture and arts of BRICS nations last year in the summit and 2016 marks the opening edition of BRICS Film Festival.
Four films from each country will be screened at the festival and awards will be conferred on the best ones chosen by the dedicated jury towards the end of the event. Kaushik Ganguly’s Cinemawala, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and Ram Reddy’s Thithi are the other three Indian films that will be showcased at the festival.
