AR Rahman to show Kaaviya Thalaivan to Iranian film-maker Majid Majidi
There have been a lot of speculations over the past few months that AR Rahman has teamed up with the widely acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi of Children of Heaven fame in his next. The Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has revealed in yesterday’s audio launch function of Kaaviya Thalaivan that he was indeed in talks with Majid Majidi. Though he didn’t mention anything about the film, he shared some nuggets from their discussion.
“When I was under discussion with Majid Majidi, he asked me why Indian films are always westernized and why we are not making films rooted into our culture. I’m going to show Kaaviya Thalaivan to him definitely,” said AR Rahman speaking at the audio function.
