Anjala Songs Review
Review Overview
Tea Podu
Nakkalu Maama
Kan Jaadai
Ayyankuli
Yaarai Ketpadhu
Bog-standard soundtrack
Gopi Sundar may be creating a lot of ripples in both the Malayalam and the Telugu industries, but here in his Tamil outing, the spice is somewhat missing. However, the authentic feel and the sounds knit together this passable soundtrack which will gain some attention amidst the masses.
Cast: Nandita Swetha, Vimal, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Imman Annachi
Music: Gopi Sundar
Lyrics: Yugabharathi, Na Muthukumar, Yegathasi, Lalith Anand
Director: Thangam Saravanan
Label: Sony Music
Tea Podu: Singer – Deva
Deva explains the basic premise of the film in a colloquial way through this pedestrian number, which wholly relies on his rendition to liven it up. The 90s-like interludes are likable though.
Nakkalu Maama: Singers – Santosh Hariharan, Sai, Azhagesan, Tamil, Nanda, Muthu Chamy& Pooja AV
Fluctuating instrumentations constitute this local number. The ‘Anjala’ chorus portion is probably its best takeaway, with the bevy of singers having a shot each at the score.
Kan Jaadai: Singers – VV Prasanna and Vandana Srinivasan
Gopi Sundar makes wonderful use of the charming vocals of VV Prasanna and Vandana Srinivasan in this lilting melody, which is familiar yet fruitful. Our PICK.
Ayyankuli: Singers – Mukesh, Thala Muthu, Raaja, Karuppan, Tamil & Pichai Arasan
A fully rolled out, fun track from Gopi, reminiscing us of his joyous compositions in Malayalam. Mukesh and the escalating chorus bit work so well together. Our PICK.
YaaraiKetpadhu: Singer – GangaiAmaren
A typecast number when it comes to sad terms. GangaiAmaren and the long-drawn out orchestrations sync well, but nothing stands out here
